The Filipino culture has been accustomed to the belief in Horoscope and Feng Shui. For most of us, we tend to place our fate on what the stars or alignment of the planets say about the future especially every time a new year starts.

But for Christians, it’s different.

We believe to the One who created the universe and the one who can even name each star. God is the only one who can give us a vision of what He can do for our lives, as a church and as an individual.

It has been a tradition for Victory Malolos to declare a prophetic word from God every new year. Since I’ve been baptized as a Born-again Christian, it was also my first time to hear a prophetic declaration when 2017 was about to end. The year 2018 had been declared as the Year of Multiplication. I want to chronicle and share what happened to me when God multiplied my faith, humility, and capacity in the said year.

Multiplication of Faith 

During those times that I was looking for a job in Singapore in 2018, I must admit that it was one of the biggest challenges that I encountered for my career. In the season of waiting, God multiplied my faith and saw how He turned everything into blessings until He gave me the opportunity to work in one production company. Without elaborating the full details but for many times I witnessed how God turned the impossible to possible.

Multiplication of Humility 

When I worked in a foreign land where there’s different work culture and people, God humbled me with such challenging yet wonderful experience. That was the opportunity to know myself better and humbled enough to see that there are things that I can’t do perfectly. I may have my own strengths but I also have flaws, or weaknesses.  I experienced rejections too. God multiplied my humility by acknowledging that He uniquely created me with different combinations of talents and skills. I should not conform to what the world is telling me to do but act in accordance to what is pleasing to God and that is to be a good steward of blessings that He already gave me.

Multiplication of Capacity 

Being part of a production company in Singapore that caters international clients like Marvel and Oh My Disney among others, God multiplied my capacity as an Editor. He taught me a lot of things when it comes to Post-production that now I can use for teaching.

For various reasons, God even multiplied my capacity to travel five times in one year when I visited Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia apart from Singapore. Studying each country’s history and culture, for me that was also a multiplication of learnings.

Finally, when I decided to teach again in the Philippines as a College Instructor, God gave me three universities.

What is the Prophetic Declaration for 2019? 

I sincerely thank the Lord for the whole year of multiplication not only for me but for the whole community of Victory Church Malolos. He has been faithful to us in 2018.

Today, January 1, God is even more faithful and true to His promise when He declared that 2019 is the Year of Renewed Strength.

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:28-31

Let’s hold on to God’s word and rest assured that no matter what circumstances that we may face in the year 2019 He is always with us to give us strength and power.
